I don’t know about you, but when those frigid January days hit, I start to think about summer hiking. I pick out the places I want to hike in the coming season and pore over maps, guides, and blogs. I dream about extended daylight, bright sunshine, and warm temperatures. Summer hiking seems like a wonderful fantasy where everything is amazing all the time.
