GMC Membership – Join or Renew Today

Your membership makes a difference! By renewing your membership or becoming a new member of the Green Mountain Club, you are supporting the trails of Vermont and the people who use them. Plus, you receive a discount at the GMC Visitor Center Store (in-person and online), at participating businesses, early access and discounts for our camps reservations, and the Long Trail News delivered to you quarterly.

You can join as a member at-large, which is a general membership, or one of our 14 regional sections that are designated based on the section of Long Trail, Appalachian Trail in Vermont, or Kingdom Heritage trails they manage.

Questions about which section to join or the difference between general and section membership? Email us at [email protected].

Section Members – Join or Renew by Clicking your Section Below

You can click on your section’s button below to join or renew your membership today. Sections are volunteer-run and host locally guided hikes, outings, and volunteer trail maintenance trips. There is a map at the bottom of this page that can be used to help you determine which section is the best fit for you. For example, if you live or have a second home in Londonderry and are interested in joining hikes and volunteer days, joining the Manchester Section might make the most sense. At-Large members may also join section hikes and volunteer days.

Mission

The Green Mountain Club is the founder and maintainer of the Long Trail - the oldest long distance hiking trail in America. Established in 1910 to build this trail stretching the length of Vermont, the club now also maintains the Appalachian Trail in Vermont and trails in the Northeast Kingdom in its mission to "make the Vermont mountains play a larger part in the life of the people."
