As a GMC Field Assistant and the interim Group Outreach Coordinator, Lorne (he/him/his) provides support to the Long Trail and its field staff while also providing organized groups with the information and guidance they need to have a successful trip on the Long Trail System. Lorne grew up in South Berwick, Maine, and attended Keene State College, majoring in Environmental Studies and Geology. After college Lorne worked seasonally for the Appalachian Mountain Club in the White Mountains, spending the winter as a cook at Pinkham Notch and the summer and fall as a naturalist and caretaker in the huts. Lorne moved to Vermont in 2016 and began working with the GMC in March of 2017. Lorne completed a Long Trail End-to-End hike in October 2018 and spends his free time solving crosswords, hiking, running, and baking bread.
