As the Volunteer Supervisor, Kate (she/her) serves as a bridge between GMC staff and the corps of volunteers. Her goals are to provide support and quality trail maintenance skills to volunteers. Prior to being the Volunteer Supervisor, Kate was the Mansfield Lead Caretaker in 2022 and a caretaker on Camel’s Hump in 2021.
Kate grew up in Shelburne, and graduated St. Lawrence University with a degree in Conservation Biology. Kate spent a season working as hut crew in the Adirondack Mountains, and a season working on a chainsaw crew in Montana before joining GMC. Kate completed a solo End-to-End hike of the Long Trail in 2018, and greatly looks forward to hiking the Te Araroa in New Zealand soon. In her free time, she enjoys meditating, reality TV and amateur astronomy.
