A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who participated in this year’s photo contest. Your submissions support our work by inspiring others to enjoy the outdoors, but they further our mission of making the “Vermont mountains play a larger part in the life of the people.” We use them in the Long Trail News, in our calendar, and in our online channels, including social media.

This year’s Grand Prize winner is Sam Yang for his photo of Mt. Ellen (above). Overall, there were so many amazing photo submissions that it was hard to choose winners. Find winners and honorable mentions for this year’s categories —: People, Scenes & Landscapes, and Trail Features — below.

People Winner:

Mansfield on the Chin, by Marcus Keely, won the People Category.

Thank you to everyone who voted on this year’s Hikers’ Choice submissions! You all cast 854 votes, but we’re not revealing the winner — whose work will be featured on the next Long Trail News — just yet. Be on the lookout for the fall publication!

Because there were so many great submissions, we will be running another hikers’ choice photo contest in winter. Stay tuned for more opportunities to submit and vote!
