Marvin B. Gameroff Hiker Center

The Green Mountain Club hiker center is named in honor of Marvin B. Gameroff. Mr. Gameroff, former owner of the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe, Vermont, was an avid hiker of the Long Trail System and supporter of the Green Mountain Club. His love for Vermont’s Green Mountains and the Long Trail prompted his sons David, Simon, and Lamont to make a gift to the Green Mountain Club in honor of their father’s 60th birthday. The Marvin B. Gameroff Hiker Center was originally housed in the main barn at the GMC headquarters. After the barn was lost to fire, the hiker center was rebuilt as part of the club’s visitor center and continues to serve the hiking public and honor the memory of Marvin and his love of the trail.
