Cathi Brooks is from Houlton, Maine, originally but has lived in several parts of the country while growing up in a Navy pilot’s family. She graduated from Virginia Tech where she began hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Cathi moved to Tucson, Arizona, after graduation and started a career in retail management, along with hiking and camping throughout the state. After several years, she returned to Virginia with her two children, who grew up hiking with her. Cathi met her husband in Virginia and he introduced her to a new love for downhill skiing. This common passion brought them to Vermont in 2003 and she joined the Northeast Kingdom Section after responding to an advertised hike in 2006. Cathi has been an active member ever since, participating in many hikes and volunteer activities, along with serving as Treasurer, President, and now representative for the NEK Section on the board.
