Jean Haigh just finished her term as GMC President, and we are so grateful for her commitment to the club. She has been on the board for 13 years, also as a Northeast Kingdom Section Director. She serves on the following committees: Executive, Budget and Finance, Development, Membership, Trail Management, Camps, and History and Archives.
Her professional background includes: Coach and Trainer at VTPBiS, Implementation Coach at Vermont’s Integrated and Instructional Model, Full time faculty at Johnson State College, the Special Education Director for Lamoille South SU and Rutland Central SU, Program Director at Brandon Training School, and 5th grade teacher Lothrop Elementary School.
She received a B.S. in Education from Castleton State College, a B.Sc. in Microbiology from Edinburgh University in Scotland, and a Masters in Education from Castleton State College in Curriculum and Instruction and Behavioral Psychology.
Outside of GMC, she is a member of People in Partnership, Special Education Advisory Board, Juvenile Sex Offender Review Board, Higher Education Collaborative/ Autism Group,, RTI Research Team, UVM, ACT 230 Review Team and Higher Education Collaborative/ Special Education Group, and the Northwoods Stewardship Center as a member of their Board of Directors.
