Jim’s history with the Green Mountain Club traces back to the 1970’s, when his Connecticut-based Boy Scout troop made annual pilgrimages to the Long Trail – over extended weekends as well as week-long high adventure trips in the summer.
In 2009, Jim re-connected with the Connecticut Section of the GMC and has been an active member ever since. Jim’s GMC experience includes a number of GMC-CT Section high adventure treks, including backpacking trips to Zion, Olympic National Park, Ireland, Wales, and the 100 Mile Wilderness in Maine. Jim also is an active participant in trail maintenance, LT section hikes, and a wide variety of other GMC hikes, events, and committees.
Jim holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut as well as BS and MS degrees in Engineering. He has held professional positions in marketing management, strategy development, engineering management, and currently serves as the Director of Operations for the United Technologies Research Center, the central research organization for United Technologies Corporation.
Jim lives in Ellington, Connecticut with his wife Teri, dog Candy, and cats Henri and Hector.
