Field Staff Application

  • Every year the Green Mountain Club has paid seasonal positions. You have the opportunity to be a Backcountry Caretaker or a member of the Long Trail Patrol. We also look for people with a trail background interested in working with volunteers to be Volunteer Long Trail Patrol Leaders. We also have excellent internship opportunities.

    Summer Season runs mid-June to mid-August and applications are reviewed beginning in mid-January.

    Fall Season runs mid-August to mid-October and applications are reviewed beginning in late June.

    If you already have a "real job" or are looking for a way to gain more outdoor experience then join us for a week or two on a "Volunteer Vacation" as a member of the Volunteer Long Trail Patrol.

The Green Mountain Club is the founder and maintainer of the Long Trail - the oldest long distance hiking trail in America.
