A YEAR OF CELEBRATING!
Thursday, March 11, 2010: We celebrated the GMC's actual birthday at the Doubletree Inn in South Burlington. Festivities included slideshow presentations, and even a song! James P. Taylor, Professor Monroe, the Three Musketeers, and a Porcupine all made appearances. Click here to see video highlights!
Friday, May 7, 2010: A fundraising dinner at Trapp Family Lodge, featuring special guest. Howard Dean. A good time was had by all!
Saturday, May 22, 2010: We reflected upon a hundred years of memories and accomplishments and enjoyed fantastic weather at GMC's 100th annual meeting at club headquarters in Waterbury Center.
Saturday, June 5, 2010: The Killington Section hosted an event at the Inn at the Long Trail to celebrate GMC's 100th birthday and raise funds for the trail. A full showing of guests enjoyed a lively discussion led by Ben Rose on the future of the Long Trail; a presentation of 1920s lantern slides from the Rutland Historical Society; and music by Phil Henry.
Friday, July 16, 2010: A barbeque supper followed by a contra and square dance at the Fancy Grade Barn in South Londonderry. Details available here.
July 17 - August 15, 2010: 30 hikes in 30 days covering the Long Trail! We did it!
